Better than sky sports by May on 27 Aug 2007
If you can't afford the pay per view boxing on sky, go here, alway a good fight to watch. Just make sure your drink doesn't get knocked over.

outstanding! by lydia and kyra! on 21 Oct 2006
we have recently been to the black horse inn for a family meal. Inside this pub, we found that the people and the atmoshphere was outstanding. the meal was cooked to perfection and the waiting staff always had a smile on their face. never judge a book by its cover as the black horse is going under full referbishment in january 2007. the faces you shall see are friendly and always up for a laugh. if you want a quiet drink or even a good night out i reccomend the black horse inn!!

Black Horse Inn by regular MB on 05 Oct 2006
passerby do all us regulars a favour and keep passing by. As for yur insults stick them where the sun dont shine. As for karen and alan making a go of the place the only thing they made off with were the months takings...and thats no joke. As for E.Glasgow still the top chef and still at the black horse. Paul and Jackie are doing a great job of sorting the pub out as long as Acky puts hi hand in his pocket. Hurry up and sort the rest of the pub out! Yours MB Export drinker!

Best Pub in Newport!!! by Blondie on 05 Oct 2006
WOW! I have never been to another pub as fantastic as this one. The food is outstanding, vast menu, huge portions, perfectly cooked and presented, while incredibly cheap. The service was excellent! After our meal we went in to the bar which was full of friendly faces. The landlady, Jacqui, is an absolute gem! This is a cool pub where you can relax, have a drink and a laugh without any attitude. A mix of all ages and a wicked atmosphere.
I would recommend this pub to everyone!!!!!!!!

I have been to the Black Horse regularly to dine,I have been to most other restaurants in the area and always return to the Black Horse.Excellent food at excellent prices.I cannot understand how it can be given a bad revue when the chefs are excellent and the bar staff are very friendly and obliging.

Giving Pubs a Bad Name by Mrs M Jones on 06 Aug 2006
I recently went into this establishment expecting a value for money and tasty meal.Instead to find myself waiting over quarter of an hour to be served at the bar and having to wait an extra half hour before anyone realised that my husband and I wanted a meal. The pub was extremely dirty. The meal was ok but the table and surrounding area was disgusting. To end our evening, we overheard insults using every letter in the alphabet and the management encouraging this behavouir. NEVER AGAIN .

Worst Pub In Newport by Funky Monkey on 03 Dec 2005
There is no heating, Half the staff have been sacked and the only decent thing there was the chef E.Glasgow who left...
The toilets are badly graffitied and the smoke extractor fans are never on meaning that it is like walking into an ashtray
