The Riverfront opened in late 2004 and is Newport’s newest arts and entertainment venue. The striking new Ł15m building (which is located near another of Newport’s architectural landmarks, The Wave) boasts two theatre spaces, a dance studio, recording studio, an exhibition gallery, workshop spaces, multi-purpose function room as well as a bar and café.
The centre is already attracting some big names from the world of entertainment with top comedians Jack Dee and Tony Robinson playing in early 2005 and by the time April arrives the centre will have seen 75 different arts performances including comedy, music, dance and theatre.
